Color Conversion

It’s been a couple weeks, and that’s because the time finally came to complete one of the most important steps in this journey: turning this van into the exact green and tan van of 1995.

Armed with photos from the internet, and the original Ford color codes (PA-Deep Jewel Green Metallic and DD-Mocha Frost Metallic) I dropped the car off at Maaco and hoped for the best. Yes, Maaco was the cheapest. But, I have to be honest, I am pretty impressed. I asked them to make it look like a new car off the showroom floor, and they delivered.

I also asked them to take photos for me throughout the process, and was shocked that they said ”sure”!

I mean, pretty spectacular for what was an old brown van.

I couldn’t be happier with the outcome. And I must say, I’m feeling nostalgic now that it looks just like the van I grew up driving!
