Stained Carpet

I really didn’t want to deal with this carpet. It’s most definitely one of the areas of the car in the poorest condition. Did you know you can actually buy full replacement carpets that are pre-cut specifically your vehicle? You literally just pop out the old one and pop in the new one.

I was so excited when I found a full replacement online for $300 that I just bought it immediately. Minutes later, order canceled: “sorry we actually don’t have this in stock”. No problem, found the exact same one on eBay soon after and purchased it. Minutes later…”this is actually not in stock, I don’t know why we have this listing”. I repeated this process 3-4 more times on various websites with the same outcome. Then I learned that there is only one company that makes these, ACC (Auto Custom Carpets). I contacted them and they told me it’s been discontinued. So, it seems none of the other websites even store these, they just get an order and then order from ACC.

I still tried to buy it a few more times from a few more reputable online sellers, but I struck out every single time.

So here we are, shampoo and scrubber in hand. Again I’m using this Chemical Guys stuff that’s rumored to be magical.

Here’s what we’re dealing with, generally throughout the car.

I tested it out on this little door thing first and it did a pretty magical job actually.

So it seems that this is my fate. I’ll just keep adding before & afters as I work through everything. It’ll keep me in good spirits.

I invested in this drill attachment and now I’ll never look back.

Lots more to go…
