Torn Driver’s Seat

I’m not gonna lie, I was a bit on the fence about this one. Not because it wasn’t obviously in need of repair, but unsure if the result would justify the cost. The driver‘s seat was clearly going to tear right open any day. It’s always caught my attention, but I sorta shrugged it off.

Anyway, I visited a local shop that does these repairs, just to entertain my curiosity.

He took one look at it and said “well, not only is it torn, the whole left side needs new foam, it’s all worn out”. And with those words, I realized that yes, this is the worst part of the car and must be fixed.

But then I was like ”yeah cool, but I’m pretty sure you can’t get this fabulous 90’s Ford metallic brown checkerboard fabric with the burgundy border anymore”. Then he was like “hold my beer”. I’m just kidding it was morning and we weren’t drinking. But, he did walk away, climb a ladder, and search through his ceiling rafters. And he came back with a whole roll of exactly the same fabric.

So, obviously it was meant to be.

Have you ever heard the theory that the most important part of a house renovation is the front door, because it’s the very first thing you touch? Well, I’m using that theory to justify this splurge. The whole car will feel newer because of this one no-longer-torn seat :)
